Gin distilled on the French Riviera - exclusive to select stockists only.
Inspired by the perfume mastery of Grasse. Their home is the majestic perfume distillery Bertrand & Fils, in Roure, dating back to 1820. They have been meticulously restoring the inside of the beautiful building into a hub of innovation, where traditional distilling methods meld with technologically enhanced extraction techniques.
The special team behind this gin brings together scientists and flavourists from the perfume industry to strike the right blend of science, creativity and technology. The result is the emotion of the Cote D'Azur in a bottle. This exclusive gin is presented in a luxury gift box honouring the gin's origins from Grasse, the perfume capital of the world.
44°N Gin is like having the Cote d’Azur on the tip of your tongue. Evocative of sunny holidays by the Mediterranean in the South of France, it was crafted using all the finest herbs and botanicals that Provence has to offer. There are peppery and truffle-like alexander seeds, salty samphire, lemony verbena, geranium-scented rose centifolia, cade (the French name for orangey wild juniper), bitter orange, floral mimosa, grapefruit, Sichuan pepper that boosts the rose and juniper, immortelle (a Mediterranean scrub that delivers hay and fig notes), jasmine and lavender, not to mention angelica, orris root, honey and five other mystery ingredients. With such an array of aromatics, it’s hard to know whether to dab it on as a perfume or mix it into a gin and tonic. Either way, this is a winner and sure to become the must-have gin for true connoisseurs.
At first, the top notes in 44ºN delight your nose with fresh, zingy citrus aromas of lemon and grapefruit.
Next a blooming floral body punctuated by jammy facets of bitter orange and warm pepper round out the middle notes.
Finally, the base notes. Tangy with alexanders and orris and the sweetness of honey ensures a sweet yet musky long lasting effect on the tongue, holding the end nicely as floral and citrus notes mingle delightfully together.
